Sleepy Hollow Hayride Preview 2018-Newtown, PA -For Haunt owner Newton Gilchrist, there is nothing much he has not seen in both the world’s of the living and the dead. As a famous Broadway Actor and Director, Gilchrist starred in Camelot and State Fair. On the big screen he played a teacher in the movie Dead Poet’s Society. Every Easter. he stages Jesus Christ Superstar at the Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA. As far as the dead goes, he has been owner and director of the Sleepy Hallow Hayride for 29 years. This includes the famous Hayride, Field of Fright and the Malfate Manor, a documented Haunted House, where people have claimed to have seen ghosts. Quite possibly the most haunted house in Bucks County. Malfate Manor is known by neighborhood children as “The House in the Hollow.” Seventeen rooms plus the family cemetery and crypt are open to the public. Experience events from the manor’s tragic past, focusing on the time at the turn of the century when it was used as a home for orphans and destitute persons. “With an abundance of imaginative special effects, the house has no need for chainsaws, gore, or violence” says Gilchrist "we have one of the longest hayrides with a trail of over 1 1/4 miles which meanders through acres of haunted woods and fields. The ride in a real hay wagon lasts over 35 minutes." The staff is made up of all Broadway Actors and his sets are all built by acclaimed set designers from Broadway and the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC. "It is our Broadway-trained Actors and Crew that set us apart." added Gilchrist, "I don't want to be a clone of other Haunts. I want to stand out and be different." The Hayride will be completely new for the 2018 season, as it has been given a complete overall. Plenty to do day and night at this real working farm with over 200 acres. Haunt Hunters will be making their first appearance at this Haunt during the 2018 Haunt season.
