Schmitts Farm Haunted House Preview 2018
Schmitts Farm Haunted House Preview 2018 Melville, NY - It took a few years for the Haunt Hunters to get out to Long Island to see how Haunts are done out on the Island and Schmitts Farm Haunted House was a great start. As part of ScreamLI.com that includes a group of the best Haunts on Long Island, Schmitts Farm offers 2 Main Haunted Attractions with their signature Haunted House and their Haunted Hayride. This place is defiantly a high energy Haunt from the Midway to the Houses. You should arrive and get your tickets early because this is the place to be in Long Island during the Halloween season. This place is packed with energy and excitement, which is exactly like the Haunted House. As you wait in line, you get to watch classic horror movies play on an enormous screen. Line entertainment is throughout the midway while there is a lot of cool side items such as Horror themed motorcycles and possibly the best Mobile Haunted House on 4 wheels that is used to promote the Haunt during the season. This old Hurst actually had a replica of the Schmidtt’s Farm Haunt House on top of the vehicle, which is one of a kind and a must see while you are there. The Haunt is super high energy, they pack a ton of scares within each square foot of this space. Music is pumping as the sub woofers do their job and shake the whole Haunt. The most impressive is one of the best executed sets of the 2017 season with the swamp set. They managed to take a well known laser technology in the Haunt industry and maximize its full potential with this set. One of the best uses if not the best use that has been seen in the industry. Without any spoiler’s, just keep your guard up once you enter the swamp. The actors do an excellent job of brining the scares in all directions. This was a great start to the Long Island Haunts with a great staff and solid local/regional Haunted Attraction.

Scary Rotten Farms Preview 2018
Scary Rotten Farms Preview 2018 -Brick, NJ - Looking for a reason to go back to the shore during the October months? Scary Rotten Farms would be a worth while trip if you are looking for a very good local Haunt. Scary Rotten Farms is entering its 8th Season as a Haunted Attraction. With each passing season, they continue to get better and better in all aspects of their Haunt. Transforming a busy garden center into a Haunted Attraction is not an easy task, but somehow the team at Scary Rotten Farms does this seamlessly. They offer 3 different Haunted Attractions on the grounds. New for the 2018 season is Twisted Tales. Remembering your favorite childhood toys being brought to life. Returning is Sinister Sneeds Chaotic Carnival of Chaos and Blackened the Plague. In 2017, there were some very good features at the Haunt that have not been done before by any other Haunt. One being what we called quick sand. There is one spot on the trail where you literally feel like you are sinking in quick sand. It is a very good effect. Also, the actors were very engaging at Scary Rotten Farms. They would participate in conversation and have witty comebacks. Usually with a local Haunt, the actors would just scream and repeat the same lines over and over. This is not the case at Scary Rotten Farms. The actors take a lot of pride in their craft and bring their areas to life. The Sneed story line is good and his set is very entertaining. The Fog can come on very quick in this area, so be prepared. There are not many choices in the Shore area for Haunted Attractions, however the choice is simple with Scary Rotten Farms, it is worthy of a trip to this local Haunt. Twenty dates are on the schedule for Haunt Season 2018, its time to pay a visit to Mr Sneed.

With one of the Best Haunted midways in the Industry, you can spend a lot of time just browsing the stores and snack stands to eat. The Hollywood like sets are amazing and the grand entrance of the Headless Horseman is like no other. You begin in the Hallow which is the Haunted Hayride part of the attraction. The most impressive aspect of the Hayride is the set design. The details are truly amazing. You will feel like you are in the middle of a Hollywood Set. The rest of the attractions are Haunted Houses that are located on the grounds and include the following: The Lunar Motel, Glutton’s Diner and Horseman’s Tomb which provides an unbelievable decent down into the tomb. 13th Hour Haunted House

13th Hour Haunted House
Wharton, NJ -13th Hour Haunted House. The Haunted Scarehouse is now 13th Hour Haunted House and Escape Rooms. Everything is the same as years past, well maybe not everything, you can always count on Haunt owner Steve Bailey to come up with something super creative in the 13th Hour before the opening of the 2018 Haunt season. Last season an expanded midway added to a carnival like atmosphere at 13th Hour. Games, Funnel Cakes and custom made chocolates by Marge provided hours of fun and of course scares. Blood Shed Farms 2017

Haunt Hunters App
Columbus, NJ -- All Haunts have roots. Places of origin, where they begin to grow and feed off the energy of the sets, actors and supporting casts. Young Pennhurst ready to Haunt

Haunt Hunters App
Pennhurst Asylum Haunted House

Springlake, PA- Pennhurst Asylum Haunt House might be considered a young Haunt in the world of Haunted Attractions as they enter season seven, but the energy that it has been drawing upon is anything but young. Built in 1908, Pennhurst was built as a school  to help those on all ends of the Mental Illness spectrum. But what was intended as a solution, quickly turned into a place that was beyond overcrowded, understaffed and underfunded.  This led to years of horrific conditions that finally sealed the doors on all of the buildings on the 100 acre property in 1989.  The acreage can lead you to underground tunnels that seem  endless and to buildings that have captured the history within its walls and if you listen close enough, you may capture one of the thousands of stories that want to be told.

Pennhurst Asylum Haunted Attraction has been listening to the spirits that roam the grounds of Pennhurst and the Haunt fans who appreciate history and entertainment  opened its doors in 2010 and has been gathering the energy and spirit since its inception. This type of Authenticity is something that cannot be replicated or reproduced.  It is what can bring a Haunted Attraction into a category of its own.

All of the props that are used are original pieces that were saved from the original school. "We are very respectful of the History of Pennhurst" says Actress Valerie Wierzbicki "we offer different programs that will allow you to experience Pennhurst in so many different ways" added Wierzbicki. New Ownership took over last season and with one season under their belt, they are committed to keep moving forward with new and innovative things.

This Haunt transforms part of grounds and brings you back to 1930 that composes of four different Attractions that are part of the Pennhurst Haunt and it is intended to be experienced in this order. The Asylum is where you will meet one of the iconic characters Dr. Webber. Who know what types of experiments that he has waiting for your. The Second phase is the Dungeon and third is the tunnel, which is the most intense part of the Haunt where the famous Genvieve roams. The dungeon houses the more volatile patients as well as treatments and experiments gone wrong. It is the underbelly of the Asylum, dark, twisted and sinister.
The fourth attraction provides access to the Mayflower Building, which has been investigated and deemed Haunted by numerous paranormal investigators including Zack Fagens of  Haunt Adventures.  This will include a Museum that will be run by historian Ruth Hines, a former employee of Pennhurst, which is a new aspect of the Haunt this season. This Haunt has built a tremendous reputation and following in the Haunted Attractions world.

Over 230 extremely dedicated and passionate staff bring Pennhurst to life. Led by General Managers Kara Lightcap and Jim Warner with Julie Kruc with Makeup & Wardrobe : The New Owners have invested a lot of money to provide property manager Neil Young with all of the tools needed in order to continue to make improvements in all aspects of the Haunt. "Many of the Sets have been rebuilt and will give our return customers something to look forward to" says Young  "We have added some features that you can only experience at Pennhurst and we are looking forward to the upcoming 2017 season".

There are no Touch Sticks at Pennhurst, so every night is contact night. However, a highly trained staff ensures your safety.  " We go through a lot of training" says Wierzbicki  "One of the things that we are known for is never breaking character".  The writing appears to be on the walls at Pennhurst Asylum Haunted House, this young Haunt is ready to deliver and compete on a National Level.

Headless Horseman Brings Tons of Halloween Fun

Book of Haunts
Headless Horseman NY

Ulster Park, NY--The atmosphere was electric and Halloween was in the air as the non stop flow of cars pulled into the parking lot of the Headless Horseman Haunted Hayride and Haunted Houses. Over 3,000 people from all over the tri state arrived to kick off the 2017 Haunt Season to experience this Nationally ranked Haunted Attraction on opening night that has been a leader in the industry for 25 years.  "We have heard so much about this Attraction that we had to come and experience it for ourselves" said Mary Dautris of New Hamphire, who made the 5 hour drive with her husband Bob, "we have been looking forward to this for a long time and finally we are here". This was a common theme amongst the many people in line, which made it obvious that the Headless Horseman is a Destination Haunt. The ominous voice of the Horseman in the parking lot immediately brings you back to Boardwalk Haunts of the 1980's. The Deep voice builds the excitement level as you take your social pictures to let the world know you have arrived.  Select  one or all of the many locations such Horseman Fire Truck number 13, the Hearst, the Entrance way or at the iconic sign that greets you from the main highway. You purchase your tickets at the ticket booth and get on your first line of the night which is the security checkpoint. You will go through a state of the art metal detector that ensures that nobody is entering the park with anything that is illegal. Safety at any attraction is an important aspect and it clear that it is a top priority at the Headless Horseman with the friendly presence of police and security thorough the attractions.

When you walk into midway, the lights are bright and you are in the middle of Halloween Central, you are on overload with all of the various shops, food, snacks that are offered. The music playlists changes from everything from Michael Jackson's Thriller to Ozzy Ozbourne's Crazy Train that creates a festive atmosphere as you make your way to the Hayrides themselves and wait to board. Each Hayride is named and come with a Narrator who boards 34-36 people on each hayride. You begin your trek that down the path and the large metal gates close behind you. The rules of the game are once again explained such as no cell phones, no photos and a the standard Haunted Attraction rule of thumb of the actors will not touch you, so you don't touch them.

Each set is grander than the next as you take in the story of the Headless Horseman who makes a grand appearance on his horse at the end of the Hayride.  Without revealing any spoilers, there are parts of the Hayride that offer effects that are not done on any other hayride, so keep you head on a swivel to catch all of the action. The Sets throughout the Hayride are Hollywood level have amazing detail at each turn.  The Authenticity cannot be matched with being out in the middle of a 250 year old farm with the stars, fog and with Ulster Park crickets that are loud and proud.

"We take pride in providing the same experience if you are the first customer or the last customer of the night" says owner Michael Jubie , who has been recognized by the best in the business as one of the top Haunted Attractions in the US,

Once you safely get off the Hayride, you get to take your group photo that can be viewed and purchased at the end of the night. Your ticket becomes your guide to what lies ahead as you tear off each section of the 9 Haunted Attractions that remain following the Hayride that  starts with the First Haunted House which is the Lunar Motel. This is where the team at Headless Horseman flawlessly go from authenticity to realistic.  "You feel like they picked items at a Hoarders House and put it inside this Motel" says Slav Profaca of North Bergen, New Jersey "the detail was amazing".

The Actors are very well trained and you can tell that they have been part of a team for years. They keep the flow of the Haunt moving and telling the story as you move through the elaborate sets. Glutton's Diner makes you think twice about what you are being served. Horseman's Tomb descends into the tomb area then you make your way back up and out of the tomb. This is a one of many features that is unique to the Headless Horseman. The Sideshow Haunt brings you back to Coney Island with reenactments of some of the best attractions from back in the day, Corn Maze brings a variety of scares in the Corn Field that is clearly defined and provides footing that is above average. Greenhouse is another unique attraction where you need to Be aware of everything around you before you end up in a hive.  The Feeding is experiments that have gone wrong. Take note of the depth and scope of this Haunt and how the Actors change the level at which they Scare.  Magic Show provides great entertainment with an Illusionist and the opportunity to grab a dozen Cider Donuts before heading into the final Haunt with Two Ravens Manor which will keep you guessing if what you just experiences was real or a machine.  Most Haunted Attractions use words as Scariest, Darkest and Premier, but at the Headless Horseman and Haunted Hayrides, the two words that jump out are fun and entertaining. A place where Halloween season is celebrated and can be enjoyed by all teens and adults.

Pennhurst Has Survived

Pennhurst Asylum App
Pennhurst Asylum Haunt Hunters

Sping City, PA- Pennhurst Asylum has survived many obstacles and is still standing, the lastest change over the past 2 years has been the change of ownership at Pennhurst. What has always remained is the History and the passion to bring it to life with a staff that is committed to making Pennhurst Asylum Haunted Attraction one of the best in the Nation and as a must see destination during the Halloween Season.
Pennhurst Asylum might be considered a young Haunt in the world of Haunted Attractions as they enter season seven, but the energy that it has been drawing upon is anything but young. Built in 1908, Pennhurst was built as a school to help those on all ends of the Mental Illness spectrum. But what was intended as a solution, quickly turned into a place that was beyond overcrowded, understaffed and under funded.
Pennhurst Asylum Haunted Attraction has been listening to the spirits that roam the grounds of Pennhurst and the Haunt fans who appreciate history and entertainment.
All of the props that are used are original pieces that were saved from the original school. This Haunt transforms part of grounds and brings you back to 1930.
There are Four different Attractions that are part of the Pennhurst Haunt and it is intended to be experienced in this order. The Asylum is where you will meet one of the iconic characters Dr. Webber. The Second phase is the Dungeon and third is the tunnel, which is the most intense part of the Haunt where Genvieve roams. The dungeon houses the more volatile patients as well as treatments and experiments gone wrong. It is the underbelly of the Asylum, dark, twisted and sinister. 2017 Opening Night is on September 22, followed by September 23 29, 30,October 1,6,7,8,12,13,14,15,19,20,21,22,26,27,28,29,and November 3,4 for a total of 22 Dates.

Haunt Fans Rave about Headless Horseman

Headless Horseman Haunted Hayride
Ulster Park, NY - Haunt Fans Rave about Headless Horseman as one of the best Haunted Hayrides in the Country. It is rated over 4.5 on Google and has over 65,000 likes and followers. Tapp the App at Haunt Hunters App to bring the Best Haunted Attractions to your smartphone built with Speed by Chuck Mound.
One of the Best Reviews was from Mel Pignatello from Brooklyn, New York and reads as follows.
I will be going back to the Headless Horseman Hayride for my fourth time this year, and each time it's a hell of a ghoulish time! The attraction covers 45 acres and includes a one mile long hayride, corn maze and six haunted houses. They also have side shows and line actor performers (while you wait in line), 5 eateries, fortune tellers and 4 gift shops.  Also, most recently the Headless Horseman has added Escape Rooms ($36.60 per person), which you have to buy a separate ticket for.  Each year the theme changes which is nice because you have new experiences if you visit again.  I am a Halloween junkie, I love visiting haunted attractions on the East Coast.  This is one of my top favorites (Trail of Terror in Wallingford, CT is pretty awesome too!). The Headless Horseman was rated the # 1 haunted attraction in the United States by Haunt World Magazine and is listed as one of the Top 20 in America.
General admission is $49.57 per person which includes a $3.95 service charge plus $3.67 NYS Sales Tax charge.  Trust me when I tell you $50 for a ticket for all that's offered is well worth the money.

The lines at Headless Horseman ARE long (however what attraction haunted or not doesn't have long lines?) but if you come with a group of friends, it's kind of nice hanging in line talking and having the anticipation build.   They do offer a speed pass (for an additional $25 on top of general admission cost) which I bought during one of my visits.  While it was great to zip into each attraction immediately I felt as if it ended too soon.  I realized then that  I didn't mind waiting in the lines as it's just part of the experience.

The level of detail behind each set design, decor, costumed staff, animatronics, pyrotechnics, the feel of being on a 250 year old farm, the organization and dedication of the 350 people employed during the season, the special FX make-up and the acting make the general admission price WELL WORTH it!  There are also side shows that start at 8:00 p.m. and continue throughout the night.  You can also have your fortune read at one of the booths.

Some suggestions I have if you visit are dress warmly.  Upstate NY in the Fall season on a farm land is pretty chilly.  Wear comfortable shoes since you'll be standing in line for a bit, and don't wear anything new as you'll be walking across farm land so it will be dusty and dirty.

Each time I have gone with my group of friends we have laughed, screamed and talked about the experience for days after.  The Headless Horseman Hayrides is by far one of my favorite attractions on the East Coast. If you haven't gone I suggest getting a group of friends together and driving the 2 hours (its 2 hours from Brooklyn NY) and enjoying the experience.  I usually stay over night at a nearby motel or hotel since I'm usually too tired to drive back.  I use concerthotels.com to search for hotels near the Headless Horseman.  The site allows you to enter the Headless Horseman name and then the dates, and the search list comes back with hits and lists how many miles away from Headless Horseman a hotel is which is very useful.

Run don't walk to the Headless Horseman Hayrides.

This provides a lot of useful information when planning your trip. The Haunt Hunters are scheduled to be at the Headless Horseman Hayrides on September 17, 2017 on opening night.

Haunt What is Already Haunted

Hotel of Horror
Hotel of Horror

Saylorsburgh, PA- At the Hotel of Horror they Haunt what is already Haunted. There is no other Haunted Attraction that is as authentic as a an abandoned 200 year old Pocono Mountain Resort once called the Lake House. You are climbing stairs, walking through rooms that are part of the the actual Hotel. There are no facades here, only the characters that were created from the energy that is released from the building itself. If Zak Bagans of Ghost Adventures is correct in saying that chills and pockets of extreme cold are indications of paranormal activity, then your paranormal radar will be on high alert. This is some of the events that happen aside from all of the action that is taking place within the 2 different Haunted Attractions in the Hotel of Horror and Altered Nightmares. The energy and passion that goes into this Haunt each season is at the industries highest level and that is one of the main ingredients to their success each year. “We let our actors be a part of the Haunt” says Haunt owner Maria Ambrosio, who owns and operated the Hotel with her husband Dan, “this allows them to be part of the creative process and have more of a vested interest in the Haunt.” This approach has worked well, the actors are on the top of their game and some even become their characters that they have created. Haunt Actor Tony Massa even learned Japanese for his role of Toukatsu in 2016, which earned Massa the Best Haunt Actor award presented by Mr Haunt and the Haunt Hunters. This Haunt was in the top 3 for 2016 with one of the Highest Grades for the Season and is worth making the trip. They do not compromise your experience to rush you through, every customer is treated with high value and that is reflected with what is delivered. 2017 Opening Night is on September 23, followed by September 24 29, 30,October1,6,7,8,13,14,15,20,21,22,27,28,29,31 and November 3,4 for a total of 20 Dates.
