Haunt in the Heat |
Spring City, PA--If the high level of entertainment value by the Haunts that decided to open early in the Haunt Season is any indication of what the the Haunt Season 2017 is going to bring, then Haunt fans are going to be in for a real treat. It goes without saying that it takes some time for Haunted Attractions to get into the stride of Haunt Season. From the Actors who bring the rooms to life to the Animatronics that require 220 volts of power to deliver the scare. Either way it takes reps to get better and for continued improvement. But for those Haunts that were open early such as the Headless Horseman in New York, Pennhurst Asylum and Hotel of Horror in Pennsylvania, they were hitting mid season form. "We spend a lot of time with actor training during the off season" says Marlo Ambrosio of the Hotel of Horror, "we aim to deliver the same performance for our valued customer no matter when they decide to visit the Hotel of Horrors." With such attention to detail, Haunt Fans are encouraged to avoid the long lines and and enjoy as many Haunted Attractions as possible. Some Haunts have even extended their seasons well into mid November. This level of preparation has raised the bar even higher in the industry and has been delivering great experiences for those who venture out on opening weekend. Which has been an average of over 2,000 visitors at the above mentioned Haunted Attractions.
"We expect some technical difficulties on opening weekend" says Headless Horseman owner Michael Jubie "but we have people in place to fix those things that may need attention, so the show always moves forward". The shows did move forward even with the unusually extreme temperatures for late September. Actors pushed through the heat in costumes, wardrobe and makeup in rooms full of halloween props that added to the heat. " We consistently go through our rooms at Pennhurst Asylum to keep coaching, encouraging and t to give our actors everything they need to be successful" says Director Jim Werner "This weekend it was all about keeping our actors hydrated with this heat." Just another of many examples of how the Haunters Haunts regardless of the circumstances.
More Haunted Attractions will be open this weekend including the Haunted Scarehouse in Wharton, NJ, Brighton Asylum in Passaic, NJ,. Look for the Complete list in Friday Night Frights with Chuck Mound.
